How to Burn Incense Sticks
- Place the unlit end of the incense stick securely into an incense holder.
- Light the coated tip of the stick with a match or lighter.
- Let the flame burn for about 5 to 10 seconds, then gently blow or fann it out.
- The tip should now glow red and release a steady stream of fragrant smoke.
How to Burn Incense Cones
- Place the flat bottom of the cone on a heat-proof dish or a designated cone stand.
- Light the pointed tip of the cone until a flame catches.
- Allow the flame to burn for 10 to 15 seconds so the ember gets fully established, then carefully blow it out.
- The tip will glow like a hot coal and begin to release smoke.
How to Burn Loose Resins (Frankincense, Myrrh, Copal, Oud..,etc.)
- Hold a charcoal disk with metal tongs and light the edge until it starts to spark.
- Place the lit charcoal into a heat-safe resin burner filled with a layer of sand or salt to absorb the heat.
- Wait a few minutes until the charcoal turns gray and is covered in ash.
- Sprinkle a small pinch of loose resin directly onto the hot charcoal to release the aromatic smoke.
